Pitbulls

I found this stamp on someone's CS signature:
It says:
Estimated numbers of the dogs that are pit bulls in the U.S population: 20%
Pit bull death rate in shelters: 93%
Pit bulls killed per year: Over 1 million
Average number of fatalities by pit bulls per year: 3 (Humans killed by pit bulls)
It is estimated that for every pit bull that kills, there are 10.5 million do NOT!
Who are the real victims?


Pit bulls need more love, respect, and care!

    I agree with you on the last sentence of this post.

    If there's (idk let's say 1) one bad pit bull in a group with lots of other pit bulls, and people see what the bad pit bull has done, why do many people infer that the rest of the group of pit bulls has the same viscous nature as the one bad pit bull.?
    On the news around a few months ago, I saw this news story about a pit bull that viscously attacked a child (I think so, anyways). Then animal control (or people like that anyways) shot the pit bull. As in they killed that pit bull.
    And guess what? Around the same time as I watched that news story on TV, there was something else on TV that said that when most people go to a shelter (to adopt a pet Y'know?) and they see a pit bull in one of the cages, they instantly ignore that pit bull as in never going to get adopted, as in then ending up getting euthanized *unless it's a no-kill shelter* (which the pit bull has done NOTHING cruel- only humans have because people think all pit bulls as that one bad pit bull). So most people think pit bulls are ALL THE SAME- in a negative way, bad reputations. Well, are we all like that murderer on the top news stories? No, of course not. That's the same with pit bulls. I think I've read somewhere that in shelters in the US, pit bulls are the least adopted breed; the most euthanized breed. To all those people who instantly hate pit bulls, just look at that pit bull in that shelter cage.: {Do you honestly see ANY intention of the pit bull about to viciously attack you? Think about it. The pit bull is just laying on the floor of the cage. Lost all of its hope. But why isn't that dog barking and wagging its tail like the rest of the dogs here? You caused the pit bull to be like that, depressed- lost in all hope, by not giving the dog a second look as you pass by it. And only because it's a Pit Bull. Why exactly is the dog so sad? It's its last day before it gets euthanized- and you were its last hope. Of adopting it. SAVING THAT PIT BULL'S LIFE! But no. You decide to just walk on by, completely ignoring that dog- not giving it a second chance of life.}

    I don't know why I've made this whole comment above be like I love pit bulls with all my heart, defending them. I don't own one. I own an Aussie. In fact, I used to think all tough breeds of dogs (pit bulls, Rottweiler's, etc.) are all viscous dog breeds. But seeing all those articles (including reading this one) has made me realize. Those are just bad reputations. Not all dogs can be that viscous as that one dog in (idk lets say 100) a hundred. And I mean this for almost all animals (well, not parasites o-o). The same especially goes for sharks. There's this one story about a 'man-eating-shark'. Instantly, everybody's feared of sharks thinking all of them are 'man-eating-sharks'. Do you even know how RARE it is for a shark to BITE you? The odds are way slimmer for a shark to KILL you. It's like 1 followed by a very big number. (I don't have a statistics book next to me- or at all, so..) So anyways, animals have to stop getting bad reputations- which we, as humans, began.

    So that's what I think. I bet this ^^ is going to be very, very long. o3o

      I'm correct. My comment is extremely long. Even longer than what I thought it would be.. O.O

      So yeah. That's my opinion on this topic. And I'm so sorry if all of that's basically restating what's said in the actual post! >.<

      Yes, I totally agree!

      And the shark thing too. Plus, some of the sharks are harmless to us!

      And, about the reputation thing, humans have the worst. Think about it.
